Para peneliti tengah mengembangkan sebuah jenis baru memori komputer yang bisa lebih cepat daripada memori komersial yang ada saat ini dan penggunaan listrik yang jauh lebih sedikit dari perangkat memori flash.

Transistor feroelektrik yang mengubah polaritas dibaca sebagai 0 atau 1, operasi yang diperlukan bagi sirkuit digital untuk menyimpan informasi dalam kode biner yang terdiri dari urutan satu dan nol. Teknologi baru ini disebut FeTRAM, untuk memori transistor feroelektrik akses acak.

Windows 8 with the full Windows desktop will never be an iPad rival. But a version of Windows 8 with nothing but Metro looks like an excellent design for an iPad rival.As Microsoft wraps up its Windows 8 conference in Anaheim, these two sentences provide an excellent starting point for understanding where Apple and Microsoft came from, where they are now and where they are going. .

The new Microsoft operating system announced at the conference is possibly a year away and, with it that far out, there might be no credible rival for the iPad from Microsoft deep into the third generation of the iPad. But the story of Windows 8 isn't about just tablets and touch-screens though. That's just a part of the overall picture. To Microsoft, Windows 8 is about the future of all computers.

How Microsoft chooses to compete with Apple's blockbuster iPad, though, will be key in deciding the future of computers.

Why a Windows 8 tablet wouldn't compete with an iPad

In Windows 8, Microsoft looks to bring a new kind of interface called Metro across all devices. As Gruber points out, Metro is like iOS in that it is a complete rethink of the way people interact with computers. It's a simpler interface designed with touch-screens in mind and developers, whose apps will be sold through Microsoft's version of an app store, will be forced to optimize their apps for Metro in Windows 8 or build new ones from scratch just like on Apple.

The difference is that with Apple you won't see an older app built for Mac OS X running on the iPad while Microsoft is making the decision to provide backward compatibility in Windows 8 for existing apps. With Windows 8, you should be able to install apps you already have, including apps that aren't easily operated by touch, might slow performance or drain battery life because they run in the background all the time.

Those poor experiences is what Apple won't allow but Microsoft might.

To Gruber, it's the Flash debate all over again. Apple restricts content made in Flash because it decreases performance and the apps aren't optimized for Apple gadgets. If Apple allowed Flash apps on iPad when Apple first launched the App Store developers would have been overjoyed because, with Flash, a developer can write one app a single time and it will run on a wide swath of gadgets. For instance, if it costs $200,000 for a company to build a quality app just for iPad that same $200,000 could be spent on a single Flash app that could run everywhere. The upside is a far larger potential audience for the same cost while the downside is significantly decreased battery life and performance on some machines because the app wasn't optimized specifically for particular gadgets.

If Apple had allowed Flash many useful and powerful iPhone and iPad apps would never have been developed. They likely would have been built in the cost-saving Flash language instead, resulting in lower battery life and some poor user experiences.

With Windows 8, Microsoft appears to be joining Apple in restricting Flash.

The reason all of this matters is it relates to whether Microsoft is able to produce a rival to the iPad that can match or beat its price point, app quality, ease of use and battery life.

Gruber, a fan of the way Apple does things, is guessing that a tablet capable of running older Windows apps in that classic desktop interface (the one you've probably used a keyboard and mouse to interact with for decades) will ultimately fail to match the appeal of the iPad. Yes, it might afford a user the ability to bring over software they already use but including that functionality could also cut hours off the battery life of a tablet which should get 10 hours.

At least, that's the theory. It's possible Microsoft could disallow these classic apps on tablets or just on certain tablets.

One Windows 8 tablet might carry USB ports for a keyboard and mouse, connect to a secondary monitor over HDMI, use a fan to cool off the gadget, weigh far more than an iPad and run classic apps.

A different category of Windows 8 tablet might toss the classic app compatibility and the USB ports, just like the iPad, and it would only run the newer Metro apps. Such a gadget could be, in theory, just as light and get just as good battery life as an iPad.

Would a Metro-only tablet version of Windows coexist on store shelves with a Windows 8 tablet that can run classic apps? How would Microsoft market that? Remember also that Microsoft is competing with not just Apple but Google as well and the latter is giving its software away for free.

Why would a tablet manufacturer pay Microsoft to license its Metro version of the operating system when it can use Android for free? Microsoft, which is already promising developers a potential audience of hundreds of millions, needs to corral more and better apps into its Windows Store than Google has made available on its Android Market.

Microsoft could always start building its own machines, like Apple. How would Microsoft's hardware partners feel about Microsoft getting into the hardware business? Then again, the only other choice for software is Google and Google is getting into the hardware business itself by buying Motorola.

Will Windows 8 kill Apple?

Of course not, but that's not to say it isn't possible the upcoming software upgrade could slow, halt or reverse the progress of Apple and Google in threatening to take away Microsoft's supremacy in computer software.

Google, Apple and Microsoft are in the process of building out competing platforms to deliver apps, movies, television shows, games, books, and music across smartphones, televisions, laptops, desktops and tablets.

Meanwhile, ubiquitous Internet connections lead people to use these devices in entirely new ways that demand completely rethinking the way a computer should function.

My punditry: I think it makes a lot of sense for Microsoft to offer a tablet without legacy app support to compete directly with the iPad sooner rather than later. In fact, I think it makes sense for Microsoft to build this tablet itself rather than have a partner do it.

I know I'd be tempted by a tablet that would function as an extension of the Xbox 360 entertainment system, for instance.

But, in the big picture, Microsoft still has to be flexible. The company cannot innovate like Apple – choosing technologies to kill that don't have a future – because it has too many users and developers to transition. Anything too new and innovative from Microsoft runs the risk of sending customers and developers into the waiting arms of Apple and Google.

Why Windows 8 isn't an iOS copycat

This week saw the latest step towards the release of Windows 8, the next major version of Microsoft's operating system that represents one of the biggest changes in the history of the platform.

At its Build conference on Tuesday, Microsoft spent more than two hours on stage detailing its next OS. While the software isn't expected to make it into consumer hands until sometime next year, we now have a clearer picture of how Microsoft is positioning it to an industry that's shifted its purchases (and affections) from desktops to notebooks, and now portable devices like tablets and smartphones.

In short, Windows 8 is Microsoft's big answer to that broadening landscape: a product that can power nearly all machines, with an interface that can adapt along the way. That right there is one of the biggest differences between Microsoft's vision of computing and Apple's, which created a separate OS to power its portables, while keeping the desktop OS for its Intel-based machines.

However that separation has led to a massive difference in the way consumers look at operating systems, particularly with how often that software is updated, bringing new features to hardware months and years after a purchase. By splitting up the two OS', it enabled Apple to iterate quickly, rolling out major releases on an annual basis, while continuing to offer Mac OS X updates at their usual rate. Now the big question is how that will work with Windows 8 with regards to Metro, Microsoft's touch-friendly UI that's been designed for tablets running Windows 8.

Microsoft has traditionally released a new version of Windows every few years, but tablet users are now accustomed to more frequent feature updates. For proof of that, you can look at the iPad, which launched without multitasking and a number of other features the iPhone had, only to get it later with a software update. Android users face a similar future, with the promise of additional software updates.

Comparatively, Microsoft has saved those big feature updates for major releases, and charged for them too. This has created a cycle where developers in the Apple camp can depend software updates to build on top of: Mac OS X developers have come to expect a major update every few years, with iOS getting updates every year.

What does that mean for Windows 8 though? Will the lucrative tradition of releasing a major update every few years continue, while the Metro interface is left untouched, or does Microsoft intend to update it more often to keep up with the Joneses? Therein lies one of the potential drawback of trying to provide everything in one package. It's also something to watch considering how closely connected Windows 8's Metro interface is tied to Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 software, which so far has followed the speedier update trend.

The major thing Microsoft has going for it with Windows 8 is how much more open it is to letting third-parties make adjustments to the operating system itself. On the non-Metro side of Windows this is unchanged, with backwards compatibility for apps, a bevy of third-party plug-ins, and software that can run behind the scenes to custom-tailor your computing experience. What's unclear is how that will shape up on the Metro side of Windows 8.

During the Build keynote, we saw that users could extend what can be done from within an app based on other applications you had installed. In that case, it was a sharing app letting a user share the Web page they were on in IE10. But how much deeper Microsoft will let third-parties go with that customization? That wasn't shown off at Build.

One other big question that remains is whether Microsoft can woo developers to its platform with the promise of scale. Windows president Steven Sinofsky pitched the 5,000 developers who were at the Build keynote on the merits of building on Windows 8, based on the fact that there "could be 400 million people when this product launches."

Yet, even at 400 million, that could be a splintered group for developers to target. For instance, an application built for touchscreen tablets will only be aimed at those with the newer portables, which represents a smaller group (read: less revenue potential) and one with potentially different buying habits than desktop users (read: they might not pay as much per app). Then there are high-end games, which would be unplayable on the newer tablets for lack of a beefy CPU and graphics card. Yet those two things can sit side by side on Windows 8, Microsoft says.

So what are developers to do? If they want the money, they go with the bigger platform, which is traditional desktop users, or a competitor like Apple or Google. That, or they can bet on the future and hope it takes off, with them being on the ground floor.

To sweeten the deal, Microsoft's tried to remove any barriers to entry. That includes letting apps with different requirements sit side by side in its store, as well as offering developers a way to offer free trials of their software--both things Apple does not. It's also shown off more of its vision about where it wants to be, well ahead of when the actual software is ready for end users.

These bets could very well pay off for both users and developers in the long run, with applications that can tailor themselves to run on just about any hardware, and change the very deepest parts of Windows to a user's exact liking. If Microsoft can deliver that with Windows 8, it will be treading ground that Apple hasn't.

Photographer Shares Unusual View of Twin Towers Before 9/11

It was a photo that anyone might have taken. In the years leading to Sept. 11, 2001, Americans took to the skies like never before, numbering in the millions, taking in the bird's-eye view above the clouds.a freshman in the photography program at New York University, was flying back from her home in Richmond, Virginia. She had a Nikon 35 mm film camera at the ready when the twin towers came into view.

Weisberger has always loved seeing the world through a lens. School reinforced that habit, sharpened her eye. What particularly prompted her to take roll after roll from her window seat was an utterly lovely April day dawning in New York.

"It was very early morning, and I just remember it being really beautiful, watching the sun rise and taking photographs," Weisberger recalls. "I had no idea I took that photo. It was on the negative."

That photo — developed at a drugstore or photo lab — was a horizon shot, layers of blue sky streaked with a barely perceptible reddish haze and oceans of roiling clouds that submerged all of New York except for the twin towers. That one heartbreakingly glorious moment stood out, between a picture just of clouds and another of the entire city. Then, she stowed the prints away.

She would pull them out five months later. Weisberger, who spent the summer waitressing in Boston, was beginning her sophomore year at NYU, in the Department of Photography and Imaging. "I was getting ready for school. It was maybe my second day of class," she recalls. Her dormitory was located southwest in the Village, close to the World Trade Center. When she and her boyfriend at the time, Ryan, walked outside, they looked up and right through a hole burning in one of the towers.

"We kept walking and didn't know what to make of it," she says. They continued on, stopping on Sixth Avenue for orange juice and a bagel. There, they saw the second plane hit. "Crowds of people just stopped in their tracks. And at that moment, I realized that it was terrorists." Shell-shocked, she and her boyfriend -- who was booked on a flight later that day -- said goodbye, and she headed to her first day of dance class. For two surreal hours, the teacher taught the fully attended class as if nothing had happened. As if two hijacked Boeing 767s hadn't crashed into one of New York's greatest landmarks just blocks away. At the end of class, a woman came in, announcing, "'The towers have fallen. I don't know if you know what happened.'"

Instead, she remembered her photo, in storage under the bed. She knew people would want to see it, and when the storefront exhibit "Here Is New York: A Democracy of Photographs," sought out contributors, she turned in her print. Hers became No.in an exhibit that would eventually comprise 5,690 images and travel the world. In the 2008 book "After Photography," NYU photography teacher and author Fred Ritchin noted:

Interestingly, the best-selling image from the exhibition (the proceeds from the photos, which were selected by interested buyers without at first knowing who made the image, went to charity) was by Katie Day Weisberger, a student who had, a few months before the attacks, photographed the World Trade Center towers emerging from the clouds while seated in a passing airplane.

Hope amongst the clouds

That image of the twin towers, rising above a sea of clouds into blue skies, would also be featured on CNN, in the PBS documentary "Faith and Doubt at Ground Zero," and in the Hartford Courant's first 9/11 anniversary edition. The Connecticut paper defied newspaper design principles by wrapping the horizontal image across the front and back pages. Years later, the technique would be used on the cover of Don DeLillo's 2007 novel, "Falling Man." The title conjured up a more despairing icon, a man caught plummeting headfirst in a fatal dive from the falling towers, but it was Weisberger's photograph that made the cover. A New York blogger, in a 2010 series of posts on book-cover design,pondered the image:

In "Falling Man," postmodern master Don DeLillo takes on the strange disconnect experienced by many Americans following 9/11. The cover photo reflects that with the eerie view from above the clouds, as if from the point of view of a ghost. The vertical drop of the "A Novel" text emphasizes the book's title, based on the name given to a performance artist that appears from time to time in the book, a mysterious man that reenacts the disturbing image taken of a suicide jumper on the day of the World Trade Center attacks.

Weisberger, the mother of a 2-year-old, now lives in Colorado and works as afreelance photographer. She can understand how a photo taken with such a young, hopeful spirit could be viewed as eerie in the light of 9/11. She has always been drawn to skies as an artistic theme("I appreciate the simplicity, openness and the beauty ... [their] potentiality"), but Weisberger can't shake the unease that an idyllic day can cause. "Every time I see a perfectly clear sky," she admits, "there's a feeling of 'the air's too clean and the weather's too perfect to believe.' I think of Sept. 11."

But the clarity of that lovely April day, the quality of that sunlight, the "childlike quality of, I don't know, wanting to experience something by way of camera," still stand out.

"There has obviously been so much violence and politicking as a result of Sept. 11, and pertaining to the events of that day," Weisberger states. "I think it's important to be able to take a step back and see that regardless of everything that happened following that day and how one might feel about what has happened, there was a day 10 years ago during which a terrible thing happened that touched all of our hearts very deeply. I hope that my photograph helps people recall the heartbreaking simplicity of that fact, and at the same time the inherent beauty of life."

Clarity in the haze of memories

Other details have become a hazier in the intervening years. She can't remember the airline she was on when she took the photo, although surely she wouldn't have needed to take off her shoes or measure her carry-on liquids in ounces in order to get through security. She thinks she was coming from her home in Richmond, Virginia -- she could've hugged her parents goodbye at the boarding gate, before security fears did away with prolonging farewells until the last possible moment, before boarding. She can't remember the flight she took in the days following 9/11, perhaps surrounded by seats left empty by Americans who had lost their faith in the skies.

Yet 10 years later, she also remembers how New Yorkers came together. "The most memorably and meaningful part of Sept. 11 was the obvious and immediate care that every single person in Manhattan --you know throughout the U.S. and the world, but more specifically Manhattan -- took of each other," Weisberger says. She remembers buying breakfast for people forced out of their homes by the blast and living in her dorm. How her boyfriend stood in line for five hours to give blood, only to be turned away because so much had been donated. And how New Yorkers stood together, cheering on the workers who brought up the rubble from the towers. "I'll remember that in times of crisis, goodness does come out."

The unknown device is running iOS 5 and is believed to be the iPhone 5, according to TechCrunch.

TechCrunch's unnamed developer was tipped off by the unknown device's mobile network codes (MNC) and mobile country codes (MCC). These two codes are used to identify a phone by its carrier. The phone found in the developer's logs had MNC/MCC numbers for both AT&T and Verizon, TechCrunch says.

Test iPhone or the real thing?

While TechCrunch's report is interesting, it is possible the unknown device running iOS 5 is simply a test unit Apple's engineers use to try out the two cellular networks in the wild.

But this is not the first time we've seen hints suggesting the next iPhone would be a world phone. Rumors that the iPhone 5 might be a dual-mode phone picked up steam in February after teardowns of the Verizon iPhone discovered the device had a dual-mode GSM/CDMA chip.

So Apple could have supported GSM with the device, but the Verizon iPhone lacked an antenna compatible with GSM networks. In April, some vague statements from Verizon executive Fran Shammo that the next iPhone would be a "global device" added to the dual-mode rumors. Verizon sells a number of devices such as the BlackBerry Storm 2 and the Droid Pro that it calls “global phones” because the devices include CDMA and GSM capabilities.

The next iPhone

Current rumors claim the next iPhone will launch in October alongside iOS 5. The device is rumored to have an A5 dual-core processor, the same chip found in the iPad 2, and an 8 megapixel camera. The new iPhone may also have an edge-to-edge screen expanding the display real estate by a few inches.

Apple recently released the sixth beta version of iOS 5,but it's not clear how many beta iterations the mobile OS will go through before its public release. Apple's iOS 4 had four betas before Apple released the gold master version in June 2010.

In terms of hardware IDEOS S7 Slim is not the most impressive tablet on the market. It will support games but if you are a gamer, you’d already have a PC, and likely at least one console capable of doing it better.

I found myself constantly wiping the screen clear of finger prints as well. I know it isn’t a popular sentiment but I am one of the rare people who prefer the ability to use a stylus.

This 7-inch S7 Slim Tablet is very easy to carry – but it isn’t really much of a selling point in an era in which you have a much more portable smart phone. It is nifty and cute and if you want to try a tablet it is a good introduction to them as a whole, but I personally didn’t find it all that useful.

S7 Slim can be used to read e-Books – and I found it worked very well for that. The trouble here is you can get e-book readers which do the same thing with e-ink, which isn’t as rough on your eyes.

I was excited when I got the Huawei S7 Slim tablet to test drive. The thing looked cute, design-wise, until I tried to plug it onto my computer through its USB cable that comes with it. My computer couldn't locate the damn thing, and it wasn't automatically picked up like all USB thingamajigs.

I told myself that I will get content onto a memory stick and then transfer to the Huawei S7 Slim - but hey the damn thing doesn't have a USB port. Now I was seriously disappointed. So I thought if you cannot transfer content straight from your computer and there is no USB port, what does that live me with. I looked for an SD card slot and find one - but it was for a micro-SD card slot.

Ternyata ini yang menjadi salah satu motivasi para remaja yang lagi gencar-gencarnya mencari jati diri untuk mencoba pacaran.
Remaja putri kalau lagi nongkrong alias ngerumpi dapat dipastikan topik pembahasan mereka tidak jauh dari sang pangeran idaman, cieee.
Begitu pula sebaliknya para remaja putrapun demikian dan ini menjadi topik utama yang lebih menarik dari pada topik-topik lainnya seperti tugas-tugas dari sekolah yang mereka anggap itu “ngeboringin”.
Dan kebanyakan mereka yang lagi ngejomblo menjadi minder dan berusaha keras tuk dapetin pasangan, malah ada yang asal sabet. Pas ditanya Sangat sepele jawabannya dari pada gak…

Banyak yang bilang pacaran atau apalah sebutannya itu ádalah sebuah motivasi ataupun penyemangat. Seorang pelajar tambah rajin nich dateng kesekolah karena ntar bakalan ketemu ama DOI, SO mereka rajin kesekolah bukan untuk belajar donk tapi buat pacaran doank. Tapi mereka yang lagi kasmaran nich mudah banget ngejawabnya,
“ Ya sambil menyelam minum susu”.
Ok deh kita tarima alasannya tapi kalau pas lagi nyelem trus minumnya kebanyakan, bisa kembung tuh perut alias masuk angin. Hehehe…
Dan apakah alasan tersebut 100% bener atau hanya alasan ente-ente pada biar diizinin tuk pacaran Sejak dini.???

Ok deh kita coba trima alasan ente pada kenapa pacaran Sejak dini, biar semangat toh sekolahnya N plus cari jodoh,hehehe…
Jika ente-ente pada rajin sekolah karena ada doi yang bakalan ente temui disana, tiba-tiba ente N doi ada problem dikit nich yang bikin hubungan kalian gak baik, Apa masíh rajin tuh kesekolah atau jadi males?...
Dapat dipastikan 80% ente-ente pada males dateng kesekolah.

- Udah berapa banyak remaja yang mati karena cinta?
- Udah berapa benyak yang masa depannya hancur karena cinta?
- Udah berapa banyak remaja yang memalukan dirinya dan keluarganya karena cinta?
- Dan udah berapa kali hati ente-ente pada sakit karena cinta?

Bandingkan dengan
- Seberapa bahagia ente pada karena cinta?
- N berapa banyak remaja yang pacarannya langgeng sampe ke pernikahan?( bukan pernikahan dini lhooo).Hehehe…

Udah ngerenungnya???!!!

Cinta adalah sebuah anugrah terindah yang dikaruniakan Tuhan YME kepada setiap mahluknya yang bernyawa, agar dapat saling mengasihi dan menyayangi.
So Sangat mutlak dan manusiawi sekali bila seseorang merasakan getaran-getaran cinta, apalagi para remaja yang ngetrennya disebut masa “PUBER” merasa hadirnya cinta ini telah membuat mereka bener-bener menjadi meraka yang sesungguhnya.
Tanpa disadari dengan adanya sedikit saja kesalahan ente-ente pada menyikapi kehadiran cinta yang begitu indah ini, justru akan menodai indahnya anugrah terindah ini, bahkan dapat menyeret ente k ekehampaan hidup dan kenestapaan.
Waduuuh dualem buangeeeet…… Hehehe.

Jalanilah hidup ini dengan cinta, dengan kasih dengan sayang kepada setiap orang.

Maksudnya berbagilah kasih dan sayang sebagai sahabat. Aplikasikan cinta mu sebagai sahabat, karena tidak ada kata cerai alias putus dalam persahabatan. So kemungkinan ente untuk sakit hati karena cinta itu tiiipiiissss banget, hehehe.
Dan juga tidak ada imbalan yang diminta dari sebuah persahabatan dan tentunya syetan males deket ama ente-ente.

Nah kayaknya lebih asyik temenan deh.
N gak kalah romantis tuh jalani cinta sebagai sahabat, hehehe...

Jangan sampe ente pada pacaran menjurus ke Free Sex or apalah.
Pegang teguh juga komitmen N slogan yang biasa digembor-gemborin
“Pacaran Sebagai Penyemangat”.
Jangan sampai pacaran bikin kalian hilang kendali n akhirnya nyungsep deh. Hehehe...
